20 Questions Per Topic: Free GCSE Physics Multiple-Choice Quizzes

Got 15 minutes? That’s enough for one of the multiple-choice quizzes – and a surprisingly accurate picture of how well you know a topic.

What’s in each quiz

Every AQA GCSE Physics topic has 20 exam-style multiple-choice questions, and every question comes with a worked solution – so when you get one wrong, you find out why, not just what the right letter was. The quizzes suit both Separate Physics (8463) and Combined Science (8464).

Questions are labelled so you know what’s relevant: F for Foundation, F/H for both tiers, H for Higher only, and S only for Separate Physics only, which Combined students can skip.

How to use them

  1. Number a page 1–20 and write down A, B, C or D for each answer.
  2. For calculations, work the answer out before you look at the options. Multiple-choice options are designed to catch common mistakes.
  3. When you’ve finished, tap Show answer under each question and read the solution.
  4. Score yourself and check the guide at the bottom of the quiz.

Why bother with multiple choice?

Multiple-choice questions turn up on the real papers, and they’re a fast way to test lots of content at once. Doing a quiz before you revise a topic shows you where to focus; doing it again afterwards shows whether the revision worked.

For teachers

Each quiz ends with an answer key, and you can print the questions straight from your browser – handy for a starter, plenary or quick end-of-topic check.

Topics: Energy, Electricity, Particle Model, Atomic Structure, Forces, Waves, Magnetism and Electromagnetism, and Space (Separate only).
