Exam-style Questions

✏️ Paper first! Work out every question on paper before you open the answer. Write down every step – the equation, the numbers with units, the rearranging and the answer with its unit. In the exam, if your final answer is wrong you can still get marks for correct working, but only if the examiner can see it.

AQA GCSE Physics Exam-style Questions

Eight topic booklets of exam-style questions, each with its own full mark scheme. 804 questions · 1866 marks, written in the style of AQA papers and informed by the examiners’ reports. Free to download and print — no sign-up and no email needed.

  • All the command words — state, describe, explain, calculate, determine, estimate, suggest, compare, evaluate, plan
  • Working scientifically and maths skills labelled beside the marks, along with Higher Tier only and Separate Physics only
  • Graph plotting and data analysis throughout, with printed grids and tables to interpret
  • Every required practical, with questions on variables, resolution, anomalies and improvements
  • Full mark schemes with the creditworthy points, allowances, and examiner notes on the mistakes that actually lose marks

How teachers use these

  • End-of-topic tests — pick a page and set it as a timed assessment
  • Homework, with pupils self-marking from the mark scheme in a different colour
  • Revision lessons before mocks, using the working scientifically questions to target AO3
  • Cover work — no equipment needed and the answers are self-contained

Looking for something different? The Activity Booklets are classroom worksheets with worked examples and graded practice, and the Specification Focus Questions turn every line of the specification into a question with the answer underneath.

These are original questions written in the style of AQA examinations. They are not past paper questions, and are not published by or affiliated with AQA.
